We've all been there. You're having a really bad day. You feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. You want to be alone, fighting back the tears. Doesn't happen often, but when I'm in that mood... these are songs I use to basically... zone out. I'll have them (along with a few others) playing on a loop... over and over. Terrific Spanish show I've been watching on Netflix. Fast-paced pulp. The show's description says... "A fatal turn of events at a brothel sends three women haunted by their pasts on a wild run from their pimp and his henchmen." I normally never watch dubbed foreign stuff (prefer subtitles), but this is the first one that's so well done. 8 episodes per season (the third one just dropped). Each is under 30 minutes. Love it. Great poem from Tennyson.
Hateful is the dark-blue sky, Vaulted o’er the dark-blue sea. Death is the end of life; ah, why Should life all labor be? Let us alone. Time driveth onward fast, And in a little while our lips are dumb. Let us alone. What is it that will last? And things are taken from us, and become Portions and parcels of the dreadful past. Let us alone. What pleasure can we have To war with evil? Is there any peace In ever climbing up the climbing wave? All things have rest, and ripen toward the grave In silence, ripen, fall, and cease: Give us long rest or death, dark death, or dreamful ease. Alfred Lord Tennyson A look back at my trip to Pedregal (Cabo San Lucas) in February 2022. I planned our annual sales recognition event (was at Grand Velas, prior... before Covid), so they took good care of me. I was there in December 2021 (to scout it out), January 2022 (to plan), and February (for the event itself). 33 lucky reps, their significant other (or friend), and our C-suite execs. I stayed a couple extra nights after everyone else had flown home and they moved me to a two bedroom beachfront suite. It was unreal.
